The Last Shift
A downloadable game for Windows
The Last Shift
Made by James Goodwin for Lehigh University Video Game Development Club's "Baby's First Game Jam".
Trapped in a flooding skyscraper, a weary maintenance worker must climb ever higher—fighting, fixing, and forging his way to survival. Each floor brings new mechanical disasters and broken machines, the rushing water being an ever-present reminder of his plight. Armed with nothing but his toolbox and grit, he patches leaks, restores power, and repairs appliances to keep moving.
Balance speed and precision as you repair broken rooms before they fall to the tide, manage limited tools, and navigate the crumbling infrastructure trying to pull you down with it. The flood is relentless—and every second counts.
Can you outfix the rising tide?
GAME JAM INFO:
I, James Goodwin, was the only member of the team working on The Last Shift.
“If it’s broke, fix it” is the heart of The Last Shift. Every challenge revolves around repairing broken machinery to survive a flooding skyscraper. The worker’s tools are his lifeline — not out of pride, but necessity. Progress depends on fixing fast and smart, even if he’s long past caring about the company’s standards. Beneath the chaos, it’s not heroism that drives him — just a paycheck, a toolbox, and hungry kids waiting at home.
